OUR STORY

No Future Cafe is proud that we are an all-ages venue that does not require bands or artists to pay in order to play or display. We provide an avenue for local artists to showcase their passions and to share their expressions.
History:

Since it first opened its doors in 1994, No Future Cafe (NFC) has provided a safe and welcoming place for young people to experience live music from up-and-coming bands in Pasadena, CA on Friday nights. In the twenty-plus years that NFC has been a community hangout, we have served thousands in the greater Los Angeles area with unlimited coffee, award-winning iced mochas, and tea- all for a suggested donation of $5 at the door.

Throughout the years, hundreds of talented bands have rocked out our stage including: Skrillex, Confide, Pushstart Wagon, Silent Planet, World’s Toughest Milkmen, Rilo Kiley, Ozma, The CafFiends, The Autumns and many more.

No Future Cafe began as an initiative of Pasadena Foursquare Church, to serve the community by providing a safe and inclusive space for spotlighting local talent and connecting with one another over common interests.

Now:

In July of 2015, No Future Cafe expanded its umbrella and hosted Geektopia which was a three-night event that created a space for people to connect and geek out on comics, pop culture, cosplay, video games, tabletop games, and dance. NFC is expanding from just being a music venue to a social hub where people gather to connect over similar interests but at the same time be exposed to different passions.

As of September 2023, No Future Cafe has closed indefinitely as new leadership now oversees the building. We will update you if/when NFC is up and running again.
